Need of Geriatric assessment in Multiple Myeloma

Majority of Myeloma patients are > 65 years of age at diagnosis & that makes Geriatric Assessment a critical for these patients. Historically we have focused on Cytogenetic & Biochemical evaluation but not so much on geriatric assessment. We need to apply measures to view patient fitness and frailty status to avoid over or undertreatment of elderly patients.
